Africa Investment Forum (AIF) last week garnered strong support in the U.S. to help advance key infrastructure projects for the continent. Three founding members of the Africa Investment Forum signed memoranda of understanding worth over $1 billion with the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) to expand American trade and investment in Africa.
Exim President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis signed the agreement with the heads of the African Export-Import Bank, Africa Finance Corporation, and Africa50 at the three-day US-Africa Leaders Forum convened by the Biden Administration on 13 December 2022. The US-Africa engagement took place amid global fragility and as Africa faces an infrastructure financing gap estimated at more than $100 billion per year.

L’Africa Investment Forum a recueilli la semaine dernière un solide soutien aux États-Unis pour faire avancer des projets d’infrastructure clés pour le continent. Trois membres fondateurs de l’Africa Investment Forum ont signé des protocoles d’accord d’une valeur de plus d’un milliard de dollars avec l’Export-Import Bank des États-Unis (EXIM) pour développer le commerce et les investissements américains en Afrique.
La présidente d’Exim, Reta Jo Lewis, a signé l’accord avec les dirigeants de la Banque africaine d’import-export, d’Africa Finance Corporation et d’Africa50 lors du Forum des dirigeants États-Unis-Afrique de trois jours organisé par l’administration Biden le 13 décembre 2022. Ce rapprochement entre les États-Unis et Afrique a eu lieu dans un contexte de fragilité mondiale et alors que l’Afrique fait face à un déficit de financement des infrastructures estimé à plus de 100 milliards de dollars par an.
