(English) As the first trade minister from any country to visit the Philippines since the new administration’s inauguration, I emphasized our committment to furthering trade and investment that creates benefits for both our people and workers. This was reflected and reiterated in my meetings with Filipina business leaders, entrepreneurs, growing global businesses, educators, and when meeting with our team on the ground. There’s already a lot of Canada already in the Philippines and the contributions that the Filipino community make to Canada is so important. Let’s keep opening doors and creating opportunities on both sides of the Pacific.
